AmBooth
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 12, 2026·Last updated: July 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how AmBooth (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our photo booth application on Android devices.
AmBooth is published by TaraSnap (com.tarasnap.ambooth).
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at: gerry.buala0805@gmail.com
Summary
AmBooth is designed to run as an on-device photo booth. Most data stays on your device. We do not require you to create an account to use the App.
The App may:
- Use your device camera to capture photos
- Store booth settings, optional security PINs, and usage analytics locally on your device
- Save finished photo strips to your device photo gallery when you choose to (or when auto-save is enabled)
- Connect to a USB thermal printer attached to your device
- Optionally upload a photo strip to our servers only if the QR download feature is turned on in Settings
We do not sell your personal information.
Information We Collect and How We Use It
1. Photos and camera data
When you use the booth, the App accesses your device camera to capture photos for photo strips and thermal printing.
- Photos are processed on your device.
- Captured images are stored temporarily on your device while a session is in progress.
- If you enable auto-save to gallery or tap Save on the result screen, the App saves a photo strip image to your device’s photo library.
- We do not access your camera in the background.
Purpose: To provide the core photo booth experience.
2. Images you choose from your device
You may select images from your photo library for:
- Home screen backgrounds
- Logos and branding
- Receipt headers and footers
- Custom frames and layouts
The App reads only the images you explicitly choose. We do not scan your entire photo library.
Purpose: To let you customize the booth appearance and print layout.
3. Booth settings and preferences
The App stores configuration data locally on your device, including for example:
- Booth name and appearance settings
- Camera and countdown preferences
- Printer preferences
- Optional settings PIN (if you set one)
- Onboarding completion status
- Total print counter
This information is stored using on-device storage (for example, SharedPreferences and local files).
Purpose: To remember your booth setup between sessions.
If you set a PIN, it is stored on your device only. We cannot recover your PIN if you forget it.
4. Local printing analytics
AmBooth keeps local analytics on your device in a SQLite database. This may include:
- Anonymous session identifiers
- Layout name used for a session
- Number of copies printed
- Date and time of printing
This analytics data is used to show printing activity inside the App (for example, in the Analytics screen). It is not automatically sent to our servers.
Purpose: To help booth operators understand printing activity on that device.
You can reset the print counter from Settings. Uninstalling the App removes local analytics data from that device.
5. Optional QR download / photo upload
If you enable AmBooth QR download in Settings, the App may upload a compressed photo strip to our servers over a secure connection.
When this feature is used, we may receive:
- The uploaded photo strip image
- A randomly generated device identifier stored on your device (used to associate uploads from the same booth)
- Technical information needed to process the upload (for example, file type and size)
After upload, guests may receive a link or QR code to view or download the image. Uploaded content may be subject to retention limits described by the service (for example, expiration of download links).
Purpose: To let guests download a digital copy of their photo strip.
This feature is off by default and requires Wi‑Fi/network access. If the feature is disabled, photo strips are not uploaded for this purpose.
6. App updates
The App may check for newer versions by contacting TaraSnap servers (for example, to compare version numbers). This check does not include photo content.
Purpose: To notify you when an app update is available.
Information We Do Not Collect
Unless described above, AmBooth does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Precise location/GPS data
- Contacts or SMS messages
- Bluetooth data (the App uses USB printing only)
- Payment or billing information
We do not use the App for targeted advertising.
Permissions
On Android, the App may request permissions such as:
| Permission | Why it is used |
|---|---|
| Camera | Capture booth photos |
| Photos / media / storage | Let you pick images for branding and frames; save photo strips to gallery |
| Internet | Optional QR upload, version checks |
| USB host | Connect to supported USB thermal printers |
You can deny some permissions, but certain features may not work without them (for example, the camera is required to take photos).
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only in these situations:
- With your direction — for example, when QR download upload is enabled and you or a guest uses that feature
- Service providers — if we use hosting or infrastructure providers to operate the upload or website services, solely to provide those services
- Legal requirements — if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- Safety — to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, TaraSnap, or others
Data Retention
- On-device data (settings, analytics, temporary captures) remains on your device until you change settings, reset counters, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
- Optional uploads (QR download) are retained only as long as needed to provide the download service, after which they may be deleted or expire.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed by the App and our optional upload service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Because most booth data stays on your device, you are responsible for securing the device itself (for example, using a settings PIN, restricting physical access, and keeping the operating system updated).
Children's Privacy
AmBooth is intended for use in photo booth environments operated by businesses, event organizers, or individuals. The App is not directed at children under 13 to use on their own.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through the optional upload feature without appropriate consent, contact gerry.buala0805@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.
Your Choices and Controls
You can:
- Decline optional features — keep QR download disabled if you do not want photo strips uploaded
- Control gallery saving — turn off auto-save to gallery in Settings
- Set or remove a PIN — protect settings and analytics in the App
- Revoke permissions — through Android system settings
- Delete local data — clear app storage or uninstall the App
- Reset analytics — use the print counter reset option in Settings (PIN required if enabled)
International Users
If you use the optional upload feature, information may be processed on servers located outside your country. By using that feature, you understand that uploaded images may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the App or on our website.
Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
